More and more Michigan farms are welcoming visitors onto their land to pick their own crops—aka “U-pick”—and it just might be the best family activity ever.
It benefits businesses and locals in myriad ways, as farm owners can cut back on costs and ensure every last bit of produce gets sold while locals get to make memories in nature, support small businesses, and say goodbye to grocery produce that isn’t gloriously juicy and ripe.
During the summer and fall, U-pick farms across Michigan offer the following crops:

When heading to one of the farms listed below, we recommend bringing a wagon to pull your produce (and little ones!) around the farms, as well as smaller vessels for collecting produce (unless the farm offers them). Make sure you wear sunscreen, hats, bug spray, and close-toed shoes. Last but not least, leave your pups at home!
