8 Michigan weed picks to upgrade your Valentine’s Day

Not every Valentine’s Day gift needs to come from a jewelry store or flower shop.

valentine's day

Not every Valentine’s Day gift needs to come from a jewelry store or flower shop. Your local dispensary might work, too.

MICHIGAN—Some cannabis gifts feel clever. Some feel gimmicky. And some are the kind of thing you’d actually be excited to give—or receive—on Valentine’s Day.

I’ve been seeing a mix of all three at Michigan dispensaries lately.

Here are eight picks that are genuinely fun, giftable, or just too good not to mention:

Smokeable roses from Zig-Zag

Everyone gets roses on Valentine’s Day. Not everyone gets to smoke them.

Zig-Zag’s new limited-edition Rose Cones are exactly what they sound like: personal-size cones wrapped in real red, white, and yellow rose petals. They’re 70mm, tobacco-free, and built for a quick, single-session smoke that feels a little more festive than your usual paper.

Each 3-pack runs about $9 and comes in a protective tube with a packing tool and humidity pouch to keep the petals fresh. Find them at Circle K or order them online through GoPuff.

A ready-made Valentine’s bundle in West Branch

If you’d rather skip the guesswork, Emerald Fire Farms in West Branch has you covered.

Their $75 V-Day Bundle stacks together a little bit of everything: an eighth of Emerald Fire flower, a Franklin Fields disposable, Gelato Last Bites, a Gelato Dubai chocolate bar, plus rolling papers, a tray, and a lighter to tie it all together. It’s the kind of bundle that covers multiple moods without making you wander the dispensary trying to piece a gift together yourself.

Valentine’s deals and giveaways in Flint

If your love language is a good deal, Star Budz in Flint is worth a stop.

The dispensary is turning Valentine’s Day into a two-day affair on Feb. 13 and 14 with an array of vendor pop-ups, promotions, and giveaways featuring brands like Jeeter, Clout King, Peninsula Gardens, Seed Junky, and more. Show up expecting a busier-than-usual shop, a few solid discounts, and the chance to walk out with some extra swag if your timing is right.

THC lotion for the best kind of massage

Cannabis-infused topicals are one of the most under-the-radar categories in Michigan dispensaries. But they make a lot of sense this time of year—especially if you or your partner have spent months carrying around winter tension in your neck, back, or shoulders.

BOSSY’s vanilla-scented 1:1 THC and CBD lotion isn’t designed to get you high. But it can be a great pairing for your next massage, especially when applied gradually to specific sore spots.

I found a big bottle at Puff Cannabis in Centerline for $15.

Another reliable option comes from Chill Medicated, which makes high-potency body rubs aimed at muscle and joint relief without the psychoactive effects. Their “Vanilla Lust” line has built a quiet following among people who use cannabis more for wellness than buzz.

For the Valentine who doesn’t want to get high

Some Valentine’s gifts are about relaxing, not launching into orbit.

For folks who prefer CBD or other minor cannabinoids over THC, Winewood Organics in Ann Arbor has built a reputation for small-batch products and a hands-on approach to weed. It’s the kind of store where you can ask questions and get thoughtful answers instead of a sales pitch.

And their cannabinoid “flight” kits are especially giftable. One popular option includes micro bottles of CBG, CBD, and CBN, which Michiganders often use for focus, relaxation, or sleep support depending on the blend. It’s a low-pressure way to explore what works for you.

Fresh glass for your favorite smoke buddy

Some gifts get used once. A good piece of glass sticks around.

Nature’s Remedy in Ferndale is marking Valentine’s Day with a special MJ Arsenal glass release featuring rigs, bongs, bubblers, bowls, and other glassware for people who appreciate the more artistic side of being a stoner. Some of it will even be themed around the holiday

Arrive when the doors open at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14 to find the biggest selection. Quantities are limited, which usually means the best pieces go early. If you’ve been meaning to retire that old daily driver—or surprise someone who appreciates good glass—this is a pretty easy excuse.

For people who hate Valentine’s Day

Romance isn’t always the goal on Valentine’s Day.

House of Dank in Lapeer is leaning the other direction this year with a Valentine’s Day party that’s bluntly titled “F*ck Love Let’s Drink,” on Feb. 14 at Lightning Rounds.

Expect a live DJ, tarot readings, henna tattoos, a photo wall, and drinks flowing late into the night. It runs from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and is free to attend. The whole vibe here is less romance, more “go out, have fun, and don’t take the holiday too seriously.” For singles, friend groups, or anyone who is tired of the Hallmark version of Valentine’s Day, this is a solid alternative plan.

Edibles made for chemistry

If any category owns Valentine’s Day, it’s infused sweets.

Northern Lights FX stands out with its “Love” chocolates and gummies, a line specifically marketed around mood, intimacy, and feel-good vibes. They blend THC with herbal ingredients like ashwagandha and muira puama—plants often associated with mood and arousal.

A couple other options are also worth a look this year: Midnight RootsMidnight Bars are reliably good infused chocolates in a range of flavors and Edible Gem’s Love Struck gummies bring live resin into the mix with 200mg of THC per pack. Both are tasty, potent, and easy to share.

As always, start low and go slow. Valentine’s Day is more fun when you actually remember it.
