Goff is set to be one of the highest-paid quarterbacks for the upcoming 2024 NFL season. Here’s what The Detroit Lions quarterback could buy to prove he’s a real Michigander.
After securing a multi-million dollar, four-year contract extension with the Lions—which totals to $53 million per season—quarterback Jared Goff said in an interview with the Associated Press earlier this month that he has more to accomplish with Detroit.
“The ultimate success is winning the Super Bowl,” Goff said. “That’s our ultimate goal—we’re not thinking about anything else.”
The 29-year-old quarterback said Lions fans—along with his teammates and coaches—are the main motivators for wanting to bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy home to Detroit.
To put it into perspective, here’s a list of seven Michigan things Goff could—but probably won’t—get with his $212 million contract extension with the Detroit Lions:
1. More than 32.6 million hot dogs from the concessions at Ford Field.

2. 1.6 million Jared Goff jerseys from the Detroit Lions’ online store.

3. Checks worth about $341 for every Detroit resident.

4. Around 29.4 million Hot-N-Ready Pizzas from Little Caesars.

5. Nearly 153,000 pounds of cannabis—based on the average ounce going for $86.

6. More than 45.5 million slices of pie from Detroit’s Sister Pie.

7. Over 74 million two-liter bottles of Vernors—including the bottle deposit.
